Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Thursday, 1 October, unveiled the foundation plaque for a new headquarters of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) in Dhaka's Tejgaon area.
The ceremony took place in the morning at the site in front of the Directorate of Land Records and Surveys, marking the formal start of the project.
According to the Home Ministry, the new headquarters is intended to strengthen the force's administrative infrastructure and support its growing range of activities across the country.
Ansar-VDP is one of the country's largest auxiliary forces. It provides security support, helps maintain order during major national events and festivals, and carries out community-level assistance in towns and villages.
