Bangladesh will make its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia this year, and the country will be represented by the a cappella ensemble Beatmosphere. The group won the televised national selection, whose finale took place on 30 September at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka.
Ten acts performed original songs on the final night. The winner was decided through a mixed voting system: a professional jury and domestic viewers each counted for 40 percent of the result, with international audiences making up the remaining 20 percent. The jury included well-known musicians Bappa Mazumder, Fahmida Nabi and Hamin Ahmed.
Beatmosphere won with 'Tumi Ele'. Performing entirely with voices, the group stood out in a field that covered a wide range of styles.
The ensemble now heads to Bangkok for the Grand Final on 14 November, where it will face entries from ten other Asian countries, including Thailand, Vietnam and South Korea. It is a chance to introduce a Bangla song to a large regional audience.
