The Munshiganj Collectorate Jame Mosque is looking for a new Peish Imam, a Muazzin and a Khadem. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner published the recruitment notice through its Nazarat branch on Sunday, 1 November. It is signed by Deputy Commissioner Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi, who also chairs the mosque management committee.

All three posts are temporary. The Peish Imam will receive a monthly honorarium of Tk 30,000, the Muazzin Tk 20,000 and the Khadem Tk 15,000.

Applicants for Peish Imam need a first-class Kamil or Dawra-e-Hadith from a recognised institution and at least three years' experience as an imam. Preference will go to muftis or muhaddiths, candidates skilled in Ilm-e-Qirat and fatwa, and Hafiz-e-Quran with correct recitation and strong khutba delivery. Muazzin candidates need a second-class Alim or Qawmi Sharh-e-Qaya and three years' experience, with preference for Hafiz-e-Quran who can give the azan melodiously. Khadem applicants need at least a second-class Dakhil or equivalent madrasa qualification, and two years of mosque experience is preferred.

As of 30 November 2026, Imam candidates must be aged 25 to 40, and Muazzin and Khadem candidates 20 to 35. Forms are available from the Nazarat branch or the district website, www.munshiganj.gov.bd. Applications must be handwritten and addressed to the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the mosque management committee. The fee, payable by bank draft or pay order, is Tk 200 for Imam and Tk 100 for each of the other posts. Applications can be delivered by hand to the Front Desk of the Deputy Commissioner's office or sent by post, and the deadline is 30 November 2026. The notice states that any lobbying will lead to disqualification.

Elsewhere in the religious calendar, the Home Ministry announced in September that the Bishwa Ijtema will be held in two phases at the Tongi Ijtema ground in Gazipur, from 8 to 10 January and from 15 to 17 January. The January dates give devotees and mosque committees in Munshiganj time to plan their travel to Tongi, which lies on the other side of Dhaka.
