Munshiganj's HSC results for 2026 have brought recognition for two institutions in particular. On Thursday, 5 November, Deputy Commissioner Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi presented the district administration's Award of Excellence 2026 to Younus Khan Memorial School and College in Lohajang upazila, which achieved a 100 per cent pass rate and ranked first in the district by pass rate. Principal Tanjima Sultana Parvin received the plaque. All 41 students from the institution who sat the exam passed, and two earned GPA-5.
The district administration gives the award to one educational institution each month, assessing teaching quality, results, discipline, sport, culture and co-curricular activities, to encourage healthy competition among schools and colleges.
At the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner praised the college's innovative teaching and said she hoped other institutions would follow its example. She stressed the importance of science education in the age of artificial intelligence, encouraged teachers to prepare detailed lesson plans before each class and called for regular counselling sessions with parents.
Meanwhile, Government Harganga College in Munshiganj Sadar produced nearly half of the district's top grades. According to figures reported by Amar Bikrampur, 26 of its students earned GPA-5, out of 55 across the district. The college had 1,817 examinees, of whom 1,254 passed, a pass rate of 70.13 per cent.
Across the district, 8,615 students from 31 institutions in six upazilas took the exam and 4,361 passed, a pass rate of 50.62 per cent. Lohajang recorded the highest upazila pass rate at 64.91 per cent. Munshiganj falls under the Dhaka Education Board, which topped all nine general boards this year with a 61.80 per cent pass rate, according to results published on 31 October.
The achievements of Younus Khan and Harganga offer a model that other schools and colleges across Bikrampur can learn from, especially in upazilas where pass rates were lower this year.
